Arrive at Casablanca Airport; your guide will be waiting for you to greet you and then transfer you to the hotel. The morning will be leisure; the afternoon will be devoted to exploring the marvels of Tangier. Time will mostly be spent in the Kasbah and El Grand Soco: Merchan Old City and M’sella Quarter. Dinner and overnight are at your hotel.
Today, we will take you to the picturesque city of Tetouan to explore the marvels of white towns of Morocco, traditional fishing ports, the Rif Mountains, evergreen red cedar forests, and Berber villages unique to this undiscovered region. You will find yourself in the Marvelous Chefchaouen Mountain town and its vibrant aura of beauty and charm. Visit the city monuments and market and retreat to your hotel for the night.
Your driver will take you on a day trip to visit historic sites and fascinating towns on the road to Fez. Visit the highlights of Meknes via Volubilis and Moulay Idris. This excursion embodies much of Morocco's early history: Volubilis as its Roman provincial capital and Moulay Idris creating its first Arab dynasty. Continue to Fez, dinner, and accommodation at the hotel.
The most ancient imperial capital and the most complete medieval city of the Islamic world, Fez is undeniably unique. Culturally and spiritually stimulating with its haunting and beautiful sounds, infinite visual details, and unfiltered odors, Fez seems to exist between the Middle Ages and modern times. Besides its electricity, it owes absolutely nothing to the West. As a spectacle, this is an entirely satisfying experience and a learning process about the sophistication of the Moroccan artisan. We visited in the morning some critical sites such as the Bouinania Medersa, the Moulay Idris Mausoleum, the Karaouiyine Mosque, the Attarine Medersa, and the Nejjarine Museum. Lunch in a typical Moroccan restaurant and continue exploring the Medina in the afternoon. Dinner and accommodation are in the hotel.
We will start the day with an excursion to the ancient city of Sefrou. The town that thrived in the Phoenician and Roman times was an outpost that linked Africa to Europe for trade Caravans used to meet there to exchange goods and Vehicles from camel to mule. An old trade outpost of sub-Saharan, it is also a three thousand years old spiritual center with many Judaic roots. Shrines and notable places around the city are pilgrimage sites to Moroccan Jews today. After the Middle Atlas short hike to explore these landscapes, we will proceed to Bhallil to visit the troglodyte dwellings that have existed since Neolithic times and still serve the purpose. Return to Fez for dinner and accommodation.
The first hills you see of the Middle Atlas seem oddly un-Moroccan. Evergreen pines, tall cedar trees on the peaks, and poplars stand copiously on the foothills, laced with flowing streams. The road across is almost ceremonial. Azrou, the first real town of the Middle Atlas, stands at a significant junction of routes; it’s an important market center and has long held a strategic role in controlling the Berbers of the mountains. The Middle Atlas ceases at Midelt, where suddenly, through the haze, appear the much greater peaks of the High Atlas formidably rising behind the town to reach a massive range, the Djebel Ayashi at over 12,000 ft. The drama of this sight, tremendous in the apparent, calm noon, is the most compelling reason to stop over for lunch. Erfoud is one of the most pleasing southern routes: a dry, red belt of the desert, and then suddenly, a drop into the valley filled with date palm groves. Dinner accommodations are at camp with the Tuaregs over the dunes of Merzouga. You can ride your camel to camp or hop in our Land Rover to cruise these gigantesque dunes.
After breakfast, we will take off to Bandia National Park for a safari. Bandia Game Reserve is located in a 3500-hectare-wide conservation National Park. Here you will see diverse wildlife species native to Senegal. You will spot buffalos, antelopes, impala gazelles, monkeys, tortoises, and the famous African crocodile, in addition to white rhinoceros, kudu, elands, cape moose, giraffes, ostriches, zebras. Stop by the crocodile pool where animals come to drink, and buffalos wallow in the mud. If you are a birding person, you will also enjoy watching numerous bird species, including small hornbills, grey herons, eagles, blackbirds, and kingfishers. The Bandia wildlife reserve has successfully reintroduced much of the amazing native flora and fauna unique to West Africa and has gradually disappeared due to demographic pressure and poaching. Early evening return to Saly Beach Resort. Meals included: Breakfast & Dinner Overnight at Palm Beach
Travel to Dakar in the morning. Upon arrival, we will take a 20-minute ferry ride to Gorée Island. Our local guide will take us on a site historical tour, then visit the ethnographic museum, where also a museum curator will lecture us on the history of the Goree, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. After lunch, we will return to Dakar for a historical and cultural visit to the city. We will tour the colorful markets, including Tilen Market, famous for various medicinal herbs and traditional medicine men. Our tour will take us to Grand Mosque, the Presidential Palace, and the Artisans Market. Our cultural tour of Dakar will end at our hotel, where our dinner will be served. Meals included: Breakfast & Dinner.
