Is Morocco a travel destination? Yes, indeed especially for active travelers. Our Overland Morocco south trekking tour starts in Marrakech, then travel over the Atlas Mountain's highest pass to Ouarzazate visiting TIchka and Ailt Ben Haddou Kasbah on the way, from Ouarzazate we will travel east to Sekoura and Kalaa de Megouna valley of Dades to overnight in Tinghir. We will visit the Todra Canyons and proceed to Erfoud for our Sahara experience over the dunes of Merzouga. The next day, our small group travels overland the backroads to Zagora trekking for a full day in the Valley of Draa (the largest palm give belt on earth) to overnight in Zagora. Today we will visit the Saharan oases of Tinfou, Oulad Driss, M'Hamid, and Tamegrout trekking back to Zagora for an overnight. On our last day, we will head back to Marrakech via the Atlas Mountains. The Southern and Northern lands of Morocco differ completely from one another, contrasting both in climate and landscape. The South seems to embody a step backward in time, to an era of biblical aura and a surviving Mesopotamia captured in a time of originality and authenticity, especially for the active traveler who likes nature, and rural cultures to explore trekking mountains and valleys.

The vast Sahara seems surreal, with its plateaus bordered by mirages, waddies punctuated by sandcastle-like Kasbahs, and romantic oases where tall date palms grow surrounded by silver-green reed, all found on a horizon of sand dunes constantly reshaped by gentle winds, sheltered by azure-blue African skies. Filmmakers Cecil DeMille and Martin Scorsese were unable to capture on film the majesty and unsurpassed beauty of Morocco’s Southern lands, literal heaven on earth, which has a depth that can only be truly embraced and appreciated by the naked eye. Join us for a Morocco active trekking tour that would be a feast for your senses exploring the Southmost part of Morocco visiting Marrakech, Ouarzazate, Skoura, Dades Valley, Todra Valley, Ziz Valley, Erfoud, Merzouga Dunes, Zagora the Draa valley and the trail of 1000 Kasbahs To Ouarzazate. Are group tours cheaper? Group tours are usually cheaper than private. However, you should also consider that group tours save you a lot of time in research, organization, and booking your trip and activities. Best small-group active tour to Morocco. This trekking adventure overland tour to Morocco can be tailored as a private tour to meet your requirements for the time frame and budget. Check out our trekking small group tours.
