This three-week overland adventure expedition to Spain and Morocco, hiking and trekking from Madrid to Casablanca trip is, by all means, one of the most actively eclectic expeditions that one can take to dig deep into the Moorish culture. Combining Spain and Morocco is a complete expedition with great cultural encounters and enticing activities. Our overland truck adventure expedition is an intimate private transport to explore the best scenic roads and off-the-path trails through these two destinations of Spain and Morocco that we have featured on our carefully personalized tour itinerary for active travelers.

Our overland adventure expedition Starting in Spain's capital, Madrid, with its fine collections of art galleries and all-around metropolitan highlights of Madrid, we then travel overland the scenic roads toward historic Toledo before heading across Castilla la Mancha to Seville. We will trek the Donana National Park, where we will spend two nights exploring the marvels of this ancient city in a small boutique hotel. We then head south to spend a couple of days discovering the sights in and around the Malaga Mountains and exploring some of the best white villages of Andalusia. Ronda is a city that effortlessly blends traditional heritage with striking modernism and progressive thinking. Our small group tour will continue traveling south to the straight of Gibraltar to catch the romantic ferry from Europe to Africa in only one hour's cross. This cross is a unique discovery between Spain, Morocco, the Mediterranean, and the Atlantic. The columns of Hercules, as Greek Mythology states.

Upon arrival to Tangier, we will overland straight to Chefchaouen, one of the best blue cities in the Mediterranean basin nestled at the peaks of the Rif Mountains. Every city in Morocco has its character and identity. The imperial cities are all exciting in their ways, as two days in Fez will reveal the sophistication of Moroccan arts and crafts, with its well-preserved ancient Islamic heritage that forever marked the cultural aspect of Spain, Portugal, and Morocco. The Old Medina of Fez does not owe anything to modernity but electricity. And finally, we take an overland ride across the Atlas Mountains, hiking and trekking deep into the Sahara oases and valleys. We will camp over the dunes of Erg Chebbi under the African skies, walk the lush oases of Tafilalet Valley, and trek the Mgoun and Dades Valleys before we reach the enticing city of Marrakech, a city that needs little introduction but which leaves the most memorable mark for its vibrant, sense awakening and exciting atmosphere Joie de Vivre. DAY TO DAY ITINERARY

Day 1: Arrive at Madrid Airport

Welcome to Spain and Morocco tours. As you arrive at Madrid airport, your Tour guide and driver will be waiting for you to greet you, then transfer you to your hotel in Toledo to meet your Spain and Morocco small group of travelers. Your Cultural Spain and Morocco tour starts here, exploring the marvels of Spain and Morocco's cultural encounters. Please continue to Toledo (the old Islamic Moorish city), which is only an hour's drive south of Madrid; here is where it all started: the Vandals' fall and the rise of Islamic civilization. Later, we will depart to visit and explore Toledo's historical, Islamic, and cultural sights. Visit the Historical Mosque built by the Muslim King Mussa Ibnu Ali in 999 AD, later to become the Church of Christo de la Luz, the ramparts entering the city from its oldest gate Bab al Saqra to the old Moorish city. Another mosque near the souk is called the Mosque of the Tornerias. This Mosque has special arches similar to the Grand Mosque of Cordoba, two courts, and a wonderful Mihrab. The best panoramic view over the city is from the Alcazar, a famous Palace of Muluk Tawaif, "Muslim Kings of Spain." We will end our tour in Zocodover Square, which used to be the livestock market from the 10th century. Dinner is in the hotel.

Day 2: Travel from Toledo to Granada

Our Cultural discovery of Spain and Morocco proceeds to the historic Granada, the emblem of Moorish civilization. Today we will travel to Granada crossing a beautiful part of Castilla la Mancha to the most rewarding province of Andalusia, south of Spain. Granada is a jewel nestled at the foothills of Mount Shulayr at the Sierra Nevada overlooking the lush plateau of “la Vega.” The emblem of Granada is the Moorish Alhambra Palace and its exotic gardens of Generalife. You will also visit the old Muslim quarter of Albaicin, the most elite neighborhood of Moorish times, dignitary palaces, Moorish baths and fountains, Medersas schools, and notable dwellings still witnessing a glorious time in Islamic Spain. A Glorious Islamic City is still proud to hold the emblem of “la Ghaliba Illa Allah,” No Glorious but Allah. Granada, a cultural center of all times, is indeed unique in its history as the last outpost of Muslim Spain and also the home of many Christian monuments, including the tombs of King Ferdinand and Queen Isabella, idolized as the Catholic Monarchs of Spain and the pioneers of the Hispanic new-found world of Latin America. Initially, two historic achievements, the End of Moorish sovereignty in Spain and the discovery of a new world happened coincidently in 1492 AD. Dinner will be in your hotel

Day 3: Granada Historical Tour

Your Specialized guide in Islamic History on this Spain and Morocco tour will take you on a full-day sightseeing tour of notable places in Granada. This will include the Alhambra Moorish Palace and its famous Generalife Gardens, Albaicine Kasbah, the Panoramic Mirador of Saint Nicolas, and the Great Mosque of Granada. He will elaborate on each site's specialty of cultural and historical makeup. Muslim presence in every corner of Granada is still remarkable nowadays.

Day 4: Granada - Cordoba - Seville

We will arrive at Cordoba in the morning, Andalucia’s most northern province. One of its many treasures is the Mezquita, a mosque of exquisite beauty and unrivaled Moorish architecture, built a little over twelve centuries ago. Our visit starts at the bridge of Mussa ibn Nusair Torre de la Calahorra. You progress strolling to the old city of la Juderia, then end at the legendary mosque of the Khalif Abderrahman Addakhil, founder of Moorish Spain and the first Umayyad Monarch. As you walk through this city, a highlight of your Spain and Morocco tour, pay special attention to the expansive, lavish patios of Moorish heritage to enjoy sophisticated architecture designed to stimulate without being ostentatious. Depart in the afternoon from Cordoba to Sevilla. Visit the ruins of Imperial Al Medina Azahar on the way. Continue on your cultural discovery tour to Sevilla. This shining city is immediately captivating and possesses an aura of happiness any visitor can easily detect. Undeniably, for the connoisseur, it is Spain’s most beautiful metropolis. Sevilla earned the reputation of a place to enjoy the potency of life. The lively streets of this enticing city manifest the realm of Spanish life from within, and one can’t help but become Spanish. The traditional theatrical exhibitions you will encounter in basically every square are indeed an art form unique to Sevilla. Your day visit to Spain and Morocco tour will conclude with a dinner in your hotel.

Day 5: Seville Walking Tour

After breakfast, your local guide will take you on a cultural visit to Sevilla. This is the most beautiful and lively city in Spain, esthetically. Your cultural visit will cover the sites and sounds of Sevilla. From the Roman site of Italica to the striking Museo de Bellas Artes, the Alcazar Palace, and the Tower of Torre del Oro, not to miss, of course, the one and only Giralda still proudly standing overlooking the Guadalquivir to witness the glory of Moorish civilization. Discover which of Sevilla's glorious monuments would be your favorite. To crown today's cultural tour of Seville, a stroll in horse carriages will be offered to visit the Casa de Espana and the gardens of Queen Louisa la Loca. Dinner will be at the hotel.

Day 6: Cross from Spain to Morocco

After breakfast, we will proceed with our cultural Spain and Morocco tour towards Fez. Depart in the morning from Sevilla to Tarifa, where a ferry will take you across the straight of Gibraltar. You will admire the beautiful diversity of landscapes that will lead you to cross the picturesque white villages in Andalucia to Tarifa at the strait of Gibraltar, the columns of Hercules that separate Europe from Africa. Lunch will be on the road. Continue in the afternoon to Tangier by ferry, then proceed to Fez. You will reach Fez in the afternoon with sightseeing of the Ramparts, the Gates, the Borjs (forts), and the Andalous part. Dinner is at the hotel.
