Art and Inspiration Tour to Morocco

Arrival in Casablanca/ – Welcome to Morocco Upon your arrival at Casablanca Airport, you will meet your tour leader, who will transfer you first to your hotel. Your guide will give you an introductory tour of Casablanca, followed by an orientation meeting and a briefing on Art and aesthetics in Moroccan culture. Your dinner and accommodation will be at your hotel.

Casablanca – Rabat – Asilah After breakfast, we will depart for Rabat. We will meet our local guide to visit the historical highlights of Rabat. We will also explore the Oudaya citadel and visit the Mohamed V Mosque (architecture and sacred design), followed by the Museum of Modern Art. We will proceed to Asilah, making one stop along the way to visit the Moulay Bousselham Sanctuary, where we will have lunch and set up camp for a painting class. Dinner and accommodation will be in Asilah.

• Sunset art walk through Asilah’s open-air mural medina.

Asilah – Creative Immersion

• Morning sketching or journaling session with a local artist.
• Guided visit to past festival murals and community art spaces.

• Evening salon: meet local artists, poets, or musicians.

• Scenic drive to the blue city of Chefchaouen.
• Orientation walks through the blue-washed medina.
• Optional photography walk: light, shadow, and geometry in the Rif Mountains.

• Drive to Fez, the spiritual and artistic capital of Morocco.
• Stop en route at Volubilis Roman ruins (for sketching & history).
• Afternoon arrival in Fez, orientation walk through the medina.
• Evening talk: “Sacred Craft: Fez as a City of Artisans”.

Fez – Hands-On Artisan Day

• Morning visit to zellige tile, tanneries, and calligraphy studios.
• Participate in a half-day ceramic or tadelakt workshop.
• Optional visit to a women’s art cooperative.
• Closing group circle and exhibit of creative work from the journey.

• Breakfast and transfer to Fez or Casablanca Airport.
